First of all, a big hello to my fans in Iowa. This one's for Eric and his mates.
Like the Ultimate Pancake explanation, art is by Stuart Immonen and comes fmo the Ultimate Doom collection.

Namor the Submariner explains tides
This is a return to what I wanted Idea102 to be: a chance for me to actually find some things out and have fun doing it. I now know a bit more about tides and how they work.
Of course, who better to explain them than Namor the Submariner?
From California Dreaming by Matt Fraction and Barry Kitson

Reed Richards explains if cell phones are bad for you
I was going to explain what to do if your phone mysteriously stops sending text messages, but can still receive them and can make calls, but it's no more complicated than "Take the battery out. Leave it for a bit. Turn it back on"
And, for the first time, a bibliography
Are cell-phones safe? Researches still uncertain
Mobile phones tumour risk to young children
Mobile phones 'more dangerous than smoking'

Reed Richards explains chess openings
This was originally going to be Reed Richards Explains the Sicilian Defence, then I realised that I had no idea how that worked.
Instead, it's chess openings, and a very brief introduction to some of them. They may be more of this if I can wrap my head around it.
From the Eisner Award Winning Five Nightmares by Matt Fractionmeansaction and Salvador Larroca
Again, click on the little picture to get the full explanation

Reed Richards explains what to do when your iPod breaks
This explanation reflects a few things that have been going on with me this week. My iPod is now a shiny paperweight and is in a box, travelling over to a service centre where they will look at it and then send me a new one. Hopefully.
I also like the fact that this update made me get out my Time Out guide to New York. I want to go back in the summer. Or maybe even the Easter break
For the novices, click on the individual panels to get the whole pages.
Art taken from the superlative Wolf at the Door by Steve McNiven and Roberto Aguire-Sacasa

Doctor Doom Explains the Additional Member System.
This is a slight break from the norm, in that it isn't Reed Richards explaining, but special guest star Victor Von Doom (who never actually finished his Doctorate, unlike Reed Richards, who has several)
This is an Idea 102 that I can use with my classes.
I'm also experimenting with thumbnails. Click on each picture to bring up the whole page. Hopefully, this will save considerably on load times.
This strip comes from Unthinkable with art by the late Mike Wieringo.

Reed Richards explains the Id, Ego and Super-Ego
This strip comes from New Avengers: Illuminati #4, with art by Jim Cheung. It's an absolutely great comic. It's also provided the banner for Idea 102, as I'm now calling the project of Reed Richards Explains
